Look! A Wild November TBR

I can’t believe we are already halfway through November, and I still haven’t told you what my TBR for the month is! My list isn’t very long since I was in over my head a bit last month, and I don’t expect November to be much different. So, I select the books on my TBR in two different ways. The first is a TBR jar I got in a bookish box from Owlcrate in 2022. The jar doesn’t have book titles in it, but prompts I need to complete during that month. The other is a numbered list of all my unread books, which I have my best friend Grace or my sister Cydnee pick random numbers from. Sometimes, I do both just to get more out of my month. That is not the case this month and probably won’t happen again until January. I plan to binge the SJM books next month in preparation for the release of her newest Cresent City novel. But I digress. This month, I have one book or series of books picked for each week with some extras just in case I get done early. It’s a mixed bag of genres, but they are all super fun.

  • Poison Princess, Endless Knight, and Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole
  • A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden
  • Cruel Seduction and Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert
  • Last of the Talons by Sophie Kim
  • Bye, Baby by Carolina Lovering
  • Nightbane by Alex Aster
  • Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
  • Wicked Pursuit by Katee Robert

Poison Princess is a dystopian YA series by super popular romance author Kresley Cole. I’ve read bits and pieces of her Immortals After Dark series and really enjoyed them, so I figured I would give her other stuff a try.

A Dawn of Onyx is a relatively new romantasy novel by debut author Kate Golden. For those who don’t know, romantasy is a new genre that blends elements from the romance and fantasy genres. A Dawn of Onyx is also the first in what Golden plans to be a trilogy.

Cruel Seduction and Midnight Ruin are books five and six of Robert’s Dark Olympus series. If you read my previous posts, you know I adore anything this woman comes up with. Midnight Ruin isn’t currently out; it is slotted for release in January, but I have been lucky enough to get a dARC or digital advanced readers copy, so I will be devouring it at my earliest possible convenience.

The Last of the Talons is an Asian-inspired YA novel. If I remember correctly, this is Sophie Kim’s debut as well.

Bye, Baby is a mystery thriller that I just know is going to ruin me. With child abduction as the main focus, I know it is going to touch all my nerves and feels. This is another ARC, this one I picked up at work. I have a bad habit of picking up ARCs at work and then not reading them before the release of the finished book… That won’t be the case with this one since it releases in March!

Nightbane is the sequel to Lightlark by Alex Aster, a YA fantasy that I have been most impatient to get my hands on. Lightlark ended on such an unbearable cliffhanger, I can only hope that this one pulls no punches from the start!

Iron Flame, what can I say about this book that you don’t already know? I worked the midnight release for this one, and it was a blast. We had trivia, crafts, and specialty drinks just for the occasion. I have to say, I have never had a book sell out in my home store as fast as this one did. Almost 300 copies sold out in a single hour. I am so glad I ordered my copy ahead of time, or I would be suffering the worst case of FOMO right now.

Lastly, Wicked Pursuit by Katee Robert. I got my hands on this dARC by being a subscriber to Katee’s Patreon, and I am so excited to read it. This is the first of a new series that follows the misadventures of the children of the Wicked Villians series.

What is on your TBR for November? Have you read any of the titles on my list? Do you want to read any of these titles also? I can’t wait to talk to you about my thoughts on these! Keep an eye out for my November wrap-up!

Until the next page,

Dani
